FAQs
What is your shooting style?
We're not into manufacturing memories. We truly believe that a photo should reflect the emotions that wrap around you on your special day. To put it simply, we don't just take pictures of people, we capture moments in time. Our primary goal is to document your day in a candid way that sparks visceral memories.
Do you travel?
Of course, we want to tell your story wherever it may be. Locally there is no charge for travel. For weddings outside our primary area contact us for a quote.
Will you both be at my wedding?
Yes, we always shoot together.
How much time will you spend at my wedding?
That's entirely up to you. We want our coverage of your day to reflect your needs. We can start from when you are getting dressed and end when your reception is over or just cover the ceremony and photo session. We'll be happy to discuss this with you when we are going over the details of your wedding during our first meeting.
What is included in your wedding packages?
The actual coverage of your day varies depending on which package you choose, however all of our packages include 2 photographers, fully edited images, full resolution digital files provided on USB with a personal use license, and an online gallery for ordering prints and sharing with friends and family. We also offer a full range of services that you can add to any package.
Are your wedding packages flexible?
Yes, every wedding is unique. Our goal is to help you find a wedding package that fits your needs and budget. Please call (512.466.6501) or email me if you have questions or don't see what you're looking for.
How early should I book my wedding photographer?
The sooner the better. We often book up to a year in advance.
What is required to book you guys?
If you decide that our style and price fit your needs please call (512.466.6501) or email us to arrange a meeting. We require a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable retainer to secure your wedding date on our calendar. We accept payment in cash, check, money order or online payment via credit card.
Do you require a contract?
Yes. During our first meeting, whether it be over the phone or in person, we will discuss the intimate details of the coverage you desire. After this takes place and if you decide to book your date with HighDot Studios we have you sign a contract. The contract details the type of coverage selected for your wedding day and guarantees that your date has been booked with us.
When is my final payment due?
Your final payment is due 14 days prior to the date of your wedding.
What is your cancellation policy?
When your date is secured on our calendar, we turn away any other work that comes our way for that day. Because of this, once we have reserved your date, all retainers are non-refundable. Any cancellation must be made in written form. Please contact us directly to discuss details in the unfortunate event that a cancellation is required.
What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
No worries. We will develop an alternative plan for photos in case of rain. We are prepared to shoot in most any condition so whether you're in to staying dry or wouldn't mind getting a little wet we're going to be right there with you.
Should we suggest photos?
As part of our planning process, we will ask you to compile a list of family portraits you'd like as well as anything unique to your day that you think we should know about. Based on that list, we'll work with you to schedule the appropriate amount of time into your timeline. We'll take as few or as many as are important to you, provided we get the requested amount of time we need to do it. Try to focus primarily on things you think we might miss like tiny details that have an emotional tie to your day. These are the moments we think are going to mean the most to you later on.
For coming up with photo ideas for the day our best advice is to avoid the lists of "MUST HAVE" photos you find on google or pinterest; they typically include events that either aren't unique to your wedding day or are filled with every event that occurs throughout the day anyways; you don't really think we're going to miss the kiss do you?!
How many photos can I expect to receive?
Every wedding is unique therefore we can't guarantee a specific number of images. The total number of final images delivered varies on average from 400-1000 depending on your coverage and many other factors. As part of the editing process we filter the images taken on your wedding day down to the very best images to tell your story. Every image we deliver will be edited consistent with the look and feel you see here on our site. We do not provide every photo taken on that day.
When will I receive my images?
We understand the excitement all couples experience to see the photos from your wedding as soon as possible. Typically we will post a "Sneak Peek" album to our facebook page within a week of your wedding date. You can expect to receive all of your images six to eight weeks following your wedding. Delivery times may fluctuate during holiday seasons.
Can I make copies of my photos or post my photos online?
HighDot Studios gives you a digital copy of the images from your wedding and grants you personal use rights. This means you can print them, post them to photo-sharing websites (Facebook, Flickr, etc.) and email them to family and friends. Any commercial usage (ie. advertisement, publication, production, or sale) is strictly prohibited unless permission has been granted first. Additionally, HighDot Studios provides our customers with an online photo gallery where you can direct your family and friends to view, download and purchase prints.
Where can I find my online photo gallery?
Once we've shipped your package we will send you an email with a link to your online gallery where you can view, download and purchase archive quality prints. This gallery will feature the same images received in your final package. If at any time you lose this link simply contact us and we will send you the link.
What if I lose my images?
HighDot Studios maintains archives of your images for an entire year after your wedding. We recommend you create backups of your images once you receive them as well to ensure that in the event your images are lost you still have a second or even a third set available.
Will we need to provide food for you?
If we are invited to join the guests for a meal, we will accept, but we do not expect for the bride and groom to be obligated to include us as part of the guest list for the meal. In the event we are not invited to eat we may take a short break while you eat to snack on food we bring.
